Singapore investment holding Temasek will Finance the work of expert groups that will study the potential and options for the use of blockchain technologies and artificial intelligence. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its sources.
The holding will Finance the research work of two expert groups, which are tasked to analyze the long–term trend of blockchain development. Operating officer of the holding company, Hwee Chia Song will supervise the work of these research groups.
The press center of the state holding Temasek, which manages assets worth up to 308 billion dollars, has already confirmed the information about the imminent start of the work of two expert teams, the purpose of which will be to assess the potential of the blockchain and artificial intelligence.
Temasek actively cooperates with a number of Asian and Chinese banks, which are already using blockchain technologies for operational and secure international transactions.
“We have been expanding our business and geography of our presence over the past few years. Now we are faced with the task to concentrate on the development of high – tech areas to create the most convenient conditions for servicing our customers,” the press service of the Singapore holding said in a statement.
The priority areas for Temasek’s investment business will be the markets of India, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, America, Europe and China. The giant is already launching joint investment projects with partners from Japan, Korea, Singapore and New Zealand.
Singapore is included in the list of Asian megacities that rely on the use of blockchain in various directions. For example, the Ministry of communications and information of the city has launched a programme to introduce distributed registry technology in various segments of the economy and has called on the media to assist it.
